2021 Volunteer Opportunity

*permiso de padre necesario

God Bless!

My name is Elizabeth Chavez, most of you know me as Lisa Chavez.

This ministry, The Nitty-Gritty True Talk Ministries (Llegando Al Corazón De La Verdad) started at home in March of 2017. It branched out 3 months later to real radio on 97.1 FM, where you can still simultaneously listen to through vida97.org via internet. Every Saturday at 9AM to 9:30AM. This ministry has always been involved in community events since it’s inception. We have prayed over the community like when hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico; I was asked by the then President at that time, of the Volusia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce if I could spearhead a group of Pastors to pray at that years Latin Festival. Hence our chance to show our compassion for the lost and in need of spiritual care and guidance. To also be able to show that we are ready to preach the Gospel in season and out of season. Recently we just received approval as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Which I am super proud and happy about.

The Nitty-Gritty True Talk Ministries has stepped up to the plate in forming a group of volunteer during COVID due to churches and their pantries closing and losing volunteers. In order to simply help in distributing food frequently during this pandemic we have helped at various mobile food drop locations.

We have an official name for our group of volunteers called VIP = Volunteers In Presence!!

This new year, of 2021; we are in need of a good strong group of 20 people for events taking place at the Daytona Speedway in Daytona Beach. I’m so excited to have this privilege to be chosen to help as a volunteer for these races, but once again your presence is what’s needed and wanted.

We have a couple of dates in which we can use 16 and 17 year olds ONLY with parents permission.

The dates are as follows:

January 30th

February 14th

Overnight admissions fan crew ticket takers

January 30th to 31st from 6pm to 6am can be in 12 hour shifts. Need people from 12pm to 6am

Admissions Fan Crew will be ticket takers. They take a ticket and they let people through the gate they also do credential validation for example somebody that’s working at the speedway would have a specific ID they would just check that ID to let that person through.

On these dates the shift is of 12 hours you will get brakes, you will get bathroom breaks and you will get a light lunch and water will be provided. You will not be on your feet all day.

Once I receive those that would like to participate in these events on these dates their confirmation and filled and signed volunteer paperwork with us ; then more detailed information will be given such as time frame gates of entrance for volunteers, etc.

Some things to consider:

* No short shorts or spaghetti strap shirts.

* This is a rain or shine event.

** Closed toe sneakers of one color

* 16-17 year olds need parents signature

* No smoking – No Alcohol.

* No Offensive language.

  • can wear a black turtleneck, long sleeve shirt or sweater under uniform shirt

I need confirmation by January 25th.

Those interested would need to provide their full legal name, phone number e-mail and sign a volunteer application & disclaimer.

In Care & Hope in a time of Pandemic your friend,

Elizabeth (Lisa) Chavez,

President
